What’s the problem? Black Bear, tastes like aged beef steak. Barbecue time.
I spent two months shy of 4 years in the army from 1965 to 1969 first as enlisted and then as an officer. I had one partial tour in Nam where I was wounded and set home to recover after 4 months. I was qualified with most infantry weapons and used a CAR-15 (Colt Automatic Rifle-15) in Vietnam which was a short barrel version of the M16 riffle. The more modern version of that rifle line is the M4 and a civilian look alike is commonly referred to as the AR-15 Assault rifle. The civilian AR-15 cannot fire full auto even with a “bump stock” add on, it still requires a separate trigger pull for each round fired. In Vietnam on patrol I never fired my CAR-15 on full auto; it’s a waste of ammo in most cases. In the jungle often with no communications you didn’t waste your ammo.

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand and pulling a male buffalo with the other. He says to the waiter:
“Want coffee.”
The waiter says, “Sure, Chief. Coming right up.”
He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.
The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun, causing parts of the animal to splatter everywhere and then just walks out.
The next morning the Indian returns.
He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling another male buffalo with the other.
He walks up to the counter and says to the waiter:
“Want coffee.”
The waiter says, “Whoa…! We’re still cleaning up your mess from yesterday. What was all that about, anyway?”
The Indian smiles and proudly says,

While it is not for me I do like the fact that Ruger continues to innovate and release new products. This week they announced a new version of the GP100. This one chambered in 10 mm:
10 mm Ruger GP100 Match Champion
This is a big revolver weighing in at 37 ounces. It has nice sights and some other features that are (I assume) geared towards competition or target shooters. If you like big, heavy revolvers chambered in a powerful semi-auto cartridge this might be for you.
Take care and God bless.

If you pay attention to the severe constitutional violations surrounding the ongoing gun debate, it really is quite shocking. Not only are the liberals infringing upon First Amendment rights by trying to silence those who speak or write about guns on the Internet (i.e. YouTube), but they are also now looking to do away with the Fifth Amendment in order to further do away with the Second Amendment. Why? Because to the progressive left, the Constitution is irrelevant and utterly meaningless.
It’s true: The Second Amendment is being targeted and the Fifth Amendment is stuck in the crosshairs. This warning comes from one of the nation’s best-known advocates for the Second Amendment, Michael Hammond of the group Gun Owners of America, who explained that there is a new push coming from the left to introduce “star chamber” courtroom proceedings, which involves a prosecutor and a judge withdrawing your constitutional rights…

More proof you don’t need a gun to do a lot of damage. Knives can be just as deadly.
All you need is a dose of crazy and some willpower.
I highly recommend watching some of Kelly McCann’s or Shivworks Knife Defense Training DVD’s to understand the KEY in defending against a knife attack is understanding DISTANCE; they have to get close to you to hurt you. So you either A. shoot them to the ground or you B. run for your friggin’ life.

One guy held a gun in my face and the other held a gun to the back of my head. But after 33 years of being an anti-gun advocate, my views didn’t change overnight.
I was 14 years old when John Lennon was killed — it affected me deeply and it was the biggest event that led to my anti-gun feelings. As I got older, my heroes were JFK, RFK and MLK, which furthered my anti-gun sentiments.
By my late teens I thought the Second Amendment was not relevant to our modern-day society and it should be repealed. The Second Amendment was only relevant to muskets, right?
In 2012 I tweeted: “@BarackObama please repeal the 2nd amendment and stop the @nra.”
Then in 2013 I tweeted: “I was mugged, two guys with guns, right after getting off 19 at Polk and Francisco last night about 10.30. @mayoredlee @sfmta_muni”

All laws, are time/date sensitive. It is suggested that all armed persons, know their state laws and review of same at least once a year and preferably by an attorney if the person has no prior training and experience with the law. Fifty states. Fifty different sets of law. Know your home state laws, first, and if necessary, any state where you are in fact, traveling through or visiting, you must know their laws. The laws, are the Justification For The Use Of Deadly Physical Force. Civilians have different sets of requirements apart from law enforcement officers.
Things happen very fast. I know from experience. Time can also go into slow motion, or seem that way, and a determination to utilize deadly physical force, could actually be decided in a split second of 1/20th of a second, but could feel like an hour. Post incident training is more important. Even I was read Miranda warning because fellow cops I had considered friends, were not. People will step away from you. People will secretly offer information against you, because they will wish to cause you harm. Keep your wits about you. Speak as little as possible. Know the laws.
After everything is over and Judas wants to be forgiven, and believe me, everyone has a Judas, remember to tell them, if they want forgiveness, go to church. God forgives, I don’t.
If you survive a shooting incident, expect isolation. The law, is your righteousness. You must be fast. You must be accurate. You must be determined to win the encounter, and win the aftermath. Don’t forget the sharks of the news media will be circling you, and your family.
“Is it ‘Legal?’”
I’ve written about this subject before, but the question keeps coming up in classes.
Inevitably someone asks:
“When this or that is going on, and this or that circumstance is extant, can I shoot this guy?
Is it ‘legal?’”
Such questions are meaningless and mostly irrelevant!
When you are compelled to shoot immediately in order to save your life, you won’t be asking yourself such silly questions!
When confronting a deadly threat, and you have no other viable option, then shoot carefully and don’t miss!
What other answer can there be?
We can’t know what prosecutors will do with a particular set of facts, but we shouldn’t be surprised when we see them enforcing agendas, not laws!
Three factors are universally present with recent mass murders:
1) The perpetrator suffered from well-known and long-documented mental illness, or was a religious ideologue, usually both.
2) Laws already on…

Since we’ve been writing about defensive gun uses within the context of the broader debate over gun restrictions lately, this story caught my attention. It also seems particularly relevant in light of the horrible shooting at a Tennessee Waffle House a few days ago, which was interrupted by the heroics of an unarmed man (for whom strangers have now raised more than $170,000). Some on the anti-gun Left decided that it would be a useful argument to highlight the incredible case of James Shaw, Jr. as a means of rebutting the ‘good guy with a gun’ argument from supporters of the Second Amendment. That was an unserious and nonsensical point, but they made it anyway. Which brings us to an incident that occurred at a Waffle House in Louisiana a few days ago — and I’d wager that only a tiny fraction of those familiar with the…

Always remember: A good scout is prepared. At all times. For anything.
The tradition, started by placing a pebble on the stone, meaning that a hand placed the pebble and someone visited an otherwise forgotten grave. The roots that I know of, are Jewish, as many told me the same thing every time I asked people about it, and it is a very nice tradition. Expanding the tradition with coins, is nice, but encourages some to remove coins and get a pocket full of change. Maybe bingo chips in different colors or marked with magic marker somehow, such as coin numeric value, would be wiser, and discourage theft or borrowing to place on another grave. At least the chips are inexpensive and could be left somewhere like the flagpole base, for anyone to select, rather than pilfer from a grave.

The video is less than 2 minutes long and may leave some with goose bumps.
As the reader will learn below, the various coins left have special significance.
They also serve as a notice to loved ones that someone has visited their fallen.
It’s not just widows and immediate family members whose lives are turned upside down with the loss of their loved ones.
It’s also the young children, old enough to remember who will never see their daddy’s again.
Add to this the number of newborn children who will never be born as the result of a soldier’s death and you are beginning to see the magnitude of the problem.
It’s not just the next generation or the next but on into eternity.

Back in the fall of 1995, Florida State University criminologist Professor Gary Kleck published what is probably still to date the most comprehensive study ever conducted in the use of defensive arms by American citizens. His findings concluded that the American people use a gun to defend themselves and others over two million times a year. You read it right: over two million times a year.
Now, Professor Kleck reports that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has confirmed his statistics. Why haven’t you heard about it? Because the anti-Second Amendment CDC and their anti-Second Amendment cohorts in the mainstream media have hidden the report.

Since Parkland, the mainstream conversation has been about nothing more than the revocation of your basic right to self defense. What the media ignores, however, is the fact that the right to bear arms has already been trampled on enough. It’s time for the pro-gun crew to stop defending the status quo. We should be outraged that there are ANY gun laws.
To start, the right to bear arms is a fundamental individual right. No, I am not saying you have the right to initiate violence against another person with a firearm, but I am saying you have every right to own a firearm and the right to use it in self defense. Regarding ownership, what you own, manufacture, sell, or purchase is none of the government’s business. Whereas you own yourself, you have the right to your property, and no entity can stop that.
So what if a gun…

In 1993, Jay Simkin and Aaron Zelman of the group Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership published a document titled “Gun Control: Gateway to Tyranny,” which highlights the similarities between the Nazi Weapons Law of March 18, 1938 and the U.S. Gun Control Act of 1968. Dedicated to the “tens of millions of victims of Nazi ‘gun control,” the book maintains that “the Nazi Weapons Law is the blueprint for ‘gun control’ in America.” The following is a synopsis of their points:
Access to ammunition and reloading components (bullets, gun powder, brass, and especially primers) will be controlled.
Police-issued ammunition and reloading components acquisition permits will be required..

Newly discovered statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which were allegedly “never publicly released,” dismantle the liberal gun control narrative that firearms are not regularly used in self-defense.
What do the statistics show?As Reason noted, the CDC is legally unable to study gun control. However, in the 1990s, the federal agency sought to learn how many Americans use firearms in defense situations on an annual basis. They apparently just never told anyone about it. Still, what they found confirmed what Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck learned on the issue in the 1990s.
In the Academy, many decades ago, we were taught: You lose your pecker before you lose your service revolver; You lose your life, before you lose your tin (badge/shield). And the Job, meant every bit of it.
A new “watchdog” report has come out and guess what? The ATF has reduced their loss rate for firearms by 55%. The report shows that the agency tasked with regulation of booze, smokes, guns and things that make really big bangs only lost 26 firearms between 2014 and 2017. The agency was unable to account for somewhere between 30,000 and 600,000 (only spot checks were done as part of the audit) rounds of ammunition.,They were also unable to find all the explosive material they have logged in their inventory (source).
This is not a new issue. This is part of an ongoing issue that was identified nearly twenty years ago. This issue is not limited to the ATF. The Department of Homeland (in)Security has been tagged by auditors with similar issues maintaining control over their firearms, ammunition as well as uniforms, badges and official stamps for documents:

The gun prohibitionists would have the world believe that successful cases of self-defense with firearms are rare anomalies, far outbalanced by the evil done by criminals with guns in hand. Au cntraire. No less a source than the Center for Disease Control apparently concluded in an unpublished study that ordinary citizens thwart crimes millions of times a year. Thanks to TTAG, now under new management, for breaking the news.
This clearly validates the research by criminology professor Gary Kleck which has long indicated that successful defenses by “Good Guys (and Gals) With Guns” vastly outnumber incidents of criminal use of firearms. And, most often, these DGUs (defensive gun usages) end with no blood shed on either side, when the criminal either flees or surrenders at the sight of the defender’s gun.
One wonders why this research was never publicly disseminated by the CDC…

The biggest issue, aside from any of those firearms having connection to any crimes, would be that, gun control laws do not work. In this example, there were 438 failures, of the law. The AR-15 fear mongering is merely window dressing. Any firearm misused, is deadly. The problem is not the firearm, the problem, is what a person is intent on doing.

Single parent homes. Homes with absentee parents. Nobody taking time to correct children when needed. Nobody teaching kids the value of life. Nobody teaching kids golden rules. Nobody taking kids to church out of reverence to the Almighty. In fact, I never told any of my kids to go to church, I used to tell them, “Follow Me”, and the family went to church. So, how did that work out? I was taught about firearms early on, at the age of twelve. My son, was taught at the age of eight. Never any issues with him. Never drugs. Never trouble with police. The only thing he ever did against my wishes, was that he enlisted, because he wanted to follow in footsteps. With my grandchildren, no issues. Taught early on, to respect life. People pointing to guns, or knives, are fools. The problem, is the monster that liberal society, created. Think about this, America started going downhill, when Eisenhower left office.
