6 unexpected uses for WD-40 It does so much more than silence squeaky hinges.

Used it on my Duty holster. Wrapped the service revolver in Saran Wrap. Then sprayed the holster, inside and outside, with WD40. Insert the service revolver and let it sit overnight to soak into the leather. Rain, snow. It repels it.

  1. I have a hillbilly friend who swears it helps his grandmother’s arthritis. Before you laugh…He’s proven to be very reliable and crafty, builds cars that can pull wheelies, and he could outwork any man I’ve ever seen. Asked him once about a “check engine” light on Freeda’s Thunderbird, he said “spark plugs.” I didn’t believe he was up to date on modern vehicles so I took it to the dealer…$278.00 for spark plugs he would have changed on our lunch break for $20.00 at most.
I have to believe him that sprayin’ granny’s knee with WD-40 helps.
I have used it as a “flamethrower” to take out wasp nests. WD-40 is one of mankind’s greatest inventions, along with the plastic oil jug with a screw on cap!

    • Kerosene probably warms the woman’s bones when she used it as a topical. I have used it when doing some mechanical work when I had antique cars, by rubbing it on my hands before working and the cleanup was easy. I felt the chemical heat from it.
