Fire being one of the essentials of survival, you always have to make sure that you have access to tools to help you build one quickly in the event of an emergency. I have already shared with you how to make fire from ice and how to start fire with sugar, lets add to that list with these diy waterproof fire starters.

Besides being super easy to make, they will cost about $3 only to make as many as 100 of these. The advantages of using these over the ones that use cotton balls and petroleum jelly is that unlike petroleum jelly, wax does not expire. Therefore you can keep these in your emergency kit for many years and they will still work. They also tend to burn for a longer period of time.
